Let’s be honest, monochrome outfits never go out of style, don’t you agree? That is why today I felt inspired to show you a monochrome look for a non-monochrome day; I hope you’ll like the idea.
So, why monochrome? Monochrome looks are sort of a newer addition to my fashion choices. As you might’ve seen from my previous posts, I usually gravitate towards more colorful outfit choices. But, sometimes, especially in fall and winter, I tend to go for something more subdued. Thus today’s look, which is based on one of my favorite colors, this deeper shade of wine red. I love how this burgundy shade correlates to fall colors, it compliments them but still creates a bit of contrast.
For the location today we chose Zemunski kej (Zemun’s quay), located along the right bank of the Danube. It’s a perfect place for an early fall walk down by the river, as it has such a relaxing feel to it. And, like a cherry on top, gorgeous swans, who could ask for more?
Now, let’s dig deeper into our monochrome look of the day. The dress, I mean, the dress. It’s a creation of my uber-talented friend Ivana, behind the brand CveTic UniKati. As soon as I saw this burgundy heart print, I was sold. The print, the cut of the dress, it just had to be mine. And I’m so proud to be wearing one of her models; you need to check her out.
I paired the dress with a pair of burgundy high heel boots, really comfortable and great for a day-to-day wear. The bag is vintage, of course, and also a perfect burgundy match. And finally, to add something other than burgundy to the outfit, I added a pair of silver sunglasses and small silver hoops.
So, there you go, a monochrome look for a non-monochrome day. How do you feel about these types of looks? How often do you go for monochrome outfits?
